EmotionML... how would you like your computer to cheer you up when you're feeling down, calm you down when you are feeling pissed off, or provide you with porn when you are feeling a little horny. It just warms the cockles of my heart knowing that my computer will all ways know when I'm in the mood. Always there to provide for me (sorry if that joke was inappropriate ladies). I'm kidding. BUT! The World Wide Web Consortium has developed EML. Kinda like HTML. Hyper Text Markup Language. That's the standard language for developing websites today. EML stands for Emotion Markup Language. This may sound a little far fetched for what a heartless calculating machine can do, but WWWC really does intend to make computers be able to respond to your emotions. This means that your computer could pick up your emotions when you are video chatting with someone and make your avatar smile or look angry depending on whatever your emotion is. This also means that the difficulty for video games is going to be adaptive. The difficulty will adjust depending on how you react. I don't really know when we can expect this technology in our computers, but I can tell you that it probably won't be within the next five years.
Next...
Just something I want to pitch to you guys here. You know how our cell phones and smart phones mostly use the 3G network? Well, apparently there's a 3.5G network in use... I didn't even know that? Did you guys know that?
Moving on...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I think this is the worst piece of tech news yet. AMD killed... killed... the ATI BRAND!!!! NOOOOO.

I'll leave it at that today folks. I'm going to be crying myself to sleep tonight.

ReplyDeletedoes jessica have the link to this?
haha veeeery interesting kent, veeeeeery interesting.
BTW, dont take this personally but what is AMD and ATI? just wondering ^.^
HAHAHAHA. Thanks Rana... And yes, she does have the link. AMD is a company that makes processors. Like Intel. And ATI was their brand name for their Graphics Cards. You know... I was wondering, what is up with the slideshow? Why the animals?
ReplyDeleteidk... talk to justin.
ReplyDeleteand is there anyway where we dont have to type in that weird squigly word when posting a comment? so far i have typed words like zurgle, sqito, huitao... its kinda weird
this time it was 'dingin'
HAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteKent I didn't know I was getting in the way of your responsibilities!
A computer that know's your emotions.... hmmm. Well I give it the best of luck. Will it have a "hyper" mode? : D I may end up confusing it. It may end up being a game. "see if you can fool your computer. Have you seen the "Did You Know?" and "Social Media Revolution" videos?
Very interesting.
Lol kent
ReplyDelete1. Sprint already has a 4G network
2. Doesn't Milo from XBOX Kinect already pick up emotion? And that was from modern day technology.
3. LOL the AMD site still says ATI...so anyway does that mean the next time I get an updated driver it's gunna be some gay AMD Sh** program (excuse my french)that doesn't have anti aliasing or anything? lol that would be fail. the 5000 series would be as good as like the intel graphics accelerator.
Yeah but 3.5G? Wtf...? What phone service in what world uses 3.5G? And yes, it is now AMD Radeon. Which totally sucks.
